Healthy Families/Thriving Communities

The District's Healthy Family/Thriving Communities collaboratives are CFSA's primary vehicles for neighborhood-based child welfare services. Organized as a broadbased network of community partners, the collaboratives work with CFSA to:

  • Prevent future abuse and neglect by providing intensive services to at-risk families
  • Support ongoing CFSA cases that require service linkages, facilitate family visitations, and assist foster and kinship families with other community-based support services
  • Provide aftercare support to ensure successful permanent placements for children who are reunited with family, emancipated, or placed in kinship, permanent guardianship, or adoption situations

The collaboratives serve high-risk families in the following seven neighborhoods with the greatest number of child abuse and neglect incidences:
